You know when something goes really well and you just want to it to continue but you know that you will eventually run into some trouble? Yea, that applies to relationships and weight loss. People can jump on the scales and suddenly be discouraged with what is said. Last week I lost 400 grams and if I was someone who took the scales as a literal figure of what my body is doing then there was a very good chance I would have run past the Pilate classes crying, driving over to the nearest Dunkin Donuts and gorging like a hungry, hungry Hippo. Scales will lie. They don’t take into consideration the food you just ate, the water or sodium intake or rocking new socks you have. They take everything into consideration and give you a number that can make you want to cry. But in all honesty, the best way to measure fat loss is simple; a tape measure is your best friend! The scales may be a bastard but inches will always tell you the truth. I have a pair of 32 sized pants that I brought earlier this year for work and they were tight; I even had to sew a button back on them due to sucking it in going horribly wrong. But alas! They now fit rather nicely on my shrinking hips. 400 grams? I’ll take the 4 inches anytime so scales, sort it out please. Now, I will most likely be working out for the last time solidly this week as the gym shuts over Christmas and New Years; this week will be exercising solidly before the going home to enjoy a few days with family and god forbid some of my mother’s famous roast lamb! I’ll give running a go for 2 weeks I think while I wait for the gym to reopen Also the gym routine will be changing as next year I’ll try and really putting the body into shock and trailing a few new outlets of curiosity.
OH, no change to diet. Just kept following the same principles of eating clean. Although I might treat myself on Christmas to a slice of pav (with berries of course).
